The Former Civil Defense Shelter Unveils Authentic Mining Artifacts
At the very base of the František Tower lies a unique, hitherto somewhat overlooked industrial treasure—a four-story underground Civil Defense (CD) shelter. The space, which formerly served as a protective shelter, is now becoming another immersive stop for visitors. Right on the first floor, an authentic exhibition of mining artifacts has been created, prepared with deep respect for the shaft’s traditions and history by the Association of Costumed Miners of the František Mine. Visitors now have a unique opportunity to descend underground and experience raw mining history presented directly by those who lived it themselves.
